1. Information We Collect

When you use JobsWithJoe.com, we collect the information necessary to provide and optimize our resume auditing and tailoring services. This includes:

  • Resume Files and Text: The PDF and DOCX files you upload, along with any raw text copy-pasted into the platform, so our models can review and align your accomplishments.
  • Intake Answers: Your voice profile responses regarding accomplishments, skills, and target industries.
  • Account Data: Information provided when signing in, including your name, email address, and authentication tokens.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your resume content is parsed and processed by secure, encrypted API endpoints powered by the Google Gemini model. We access Google Gemini via paid developer API endpoints. Under the Google APIs Terms of Service, data sent to these developer API endpoints is not used to train Google's public models and is kept secure and confidential. This data is only used to:

  • Perform the Recruiter scorecard audit and yield check.
  • Tailor bullet points to the target job description.
  • Generate customized STAR interview prep sheets.
  • Enable fine-tuning of your custom recruiting model (logged dataset flywheel updates) only when you explicitly opt in to train the model.

We do not sell, rent, or distribute your resume information to third-party advertisers or recruitment agencies.

3. Data Retention & Timelines

We retain your personal data only as long as you maintain your account with us. You can delete your uploaded resume files, parsed resume text, and custom Voice Profile at any time directly through your account settings. Once a deletion is requested, your data will be permanently purged from our active databases within 30 days.

System backups are encrypted using AES-256 keys, stored securely on Google Cloud infrastructure, and are automatically overwritten on a rolling 60-day cycle.

4. Subprocessors & Service Providers

To deliver our services, we partner with trusted subprocessors who meet strict data security standards. These subprocessors process your data only in accordance with our instructions:

  • Google Cloud & Firebase: Provides hosting, application servers, database storage (Cloud Firestore), and secure file storage (Firebase Storage).
  • Google Gemini API: Processes resume text and job descriptions to perform audits and align content under paid API developer terms (preventing use of data for model training).
  • Stripe: Securely processes payments and credit card transactions. We do not store or process your credit card numbers on our servers.

5. Data Security

All communications between your browser and our servers are encrypted in transit using 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption protocols, and all stored data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 keys. Files are stored securely on Firebase Storage, and parsed text is mapped in your private, secure Firestore workspace.

6. Breach Notification

In the event of a security breach that compromises your personal data, we will notify affected users via email within 72 hours of verification. This notification will include the scope of the incident, the data involved, and our remediation steps.

7. Account Deletion & Rights

You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated personal information. You can do this at any time by accessing your profile settings or by emailing our support team at customerservice@jobswithjoe.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
